2. Brigadeiros

This dish is a dessert and consists of sweet balls. It is basically the Brazilian version of chocolate truffle. All you require is condensed milk, cocoa, butter and chocolate sprinkles. Brigadeiros are a favorite of everyone from the youngest to the oldest.

3. Acarajé

This dish is the Brazilian version of black-eyed fritters and is an extremely popular street food. The black-eyed peas patties are fried in palm oil and are stuffed with vatapá, which is a puree of prawn or shrimp.

4. Feijoada

This dish is also a stew of different types of beans and pork. This dish is the hardest to cook as it requires cooking time of 24 hours. It is served with orange slices, rice, kale, farofa, and pork dishes. Though Feijoada takes forever to cook, it is readily available in Brazilian bars and restaurants.

5. Quindim

Quindim is a dessert made out of eggs, coconut, milk, and sugar. Traditionally cooked in cupcake holders, the top of the dish is a smooth custard, in between there is a generous stuffing of coconut and the bottom is a golden sweet crust. Quindim is believed to be a combination of an African and a Portuguese dishes.

6. Picanha

This dish is barbecue meat, the top of a sirloin steak to be specific. This cut of meat comes with a thick layer of fat that gives the meat a delicious smoky taste.

7. Pastel De Queijo

This is an extremely popular pastry dish and has fillings of chicken, cheese or beef. This savory dish also comes with stuffing’s of fruits, caramel and chocolate.

8. Pão de Queijo

This dish is the Brazlian version of cheese bread and is made of out of cheese and tapioca flour. Pão de Queijo is a popular breakfast dish.

9. Kibe

This dish finds its origins in Lebanon and is a favorite meat snack of Brazilians.

10. Cassava Chips

The cassava plant is cut and fried in different ways to create tasty traditional Brazilian dishes.

11. Bacalhau

This dish consists of small cod balls and also contains potato.
Bacalhau is also used as an ingredient in other dishes.
